Description
You can order Boy Standing by Water on a desk mat, with a rubber base.
Stones and lily pad shapes lie across shallow, reflective water, while a figure in a hooded jacket and shorts stands alone near the middle. Bare trees twist along both sides, and a dark rowboat sits in the lower right. Burnt orange light fills the sky, with slate blue and charcoal shading the water. The mood is lonely and eerie, with a hanging dark pod drifting in the upper left.
A living room desk suits this piece well. The lone boy and the empty shoreline give a steady, unhurried image to glance at during a workday. Its cool slate and charcoal tones suit a space with screens and paper, leaving the glow out of the way. Set it where the sunset colors reach the chair.
