If you are about to buy a poster from a small shop, three questions matter: who makes it, how long does it take, and what happens if something is wrong. This guide answers them for shop.burakbasci.de from the shop’s own policies and product data. It also says plainly how the artwork is made. Where we do not know something, we say so.
What print on demand means
Nothing is stored finished. When you order, a print partner prints your item, then ships it. The shop works with Printify and the production partners it connects to. For that reason each product page says: printed on demand just for you, production takes 2 to 7 days, then your order ships. The shipping policy states production usually takes 2 to 7 business days, transit typically 5 to 15 business days after dispatch, and an estimate for the total of 7 to 21 business days. These are estimates, not binding delivery dates.
Why one order can arrive in several parcels
Different product types are produced and shipped by different print providers. A poster and a desk mat in the same order may come from different places and arrive separately. Shipping costs are added up per product type and shown at checkout before you pay. Poster shipping is free to Germany, the EU, the United Kingdom and the United States if the poster items in your order total EUR 140 or more before any discount code; desk mats and other product types are not included. Check the current figures on the policy page, which is dated and may change.
Where the blanks and print partners are
The shipping policy says some items are produced and shipped from outside the EU. For deliveries into the EU, import VAT and customs duties may be collected before delivery; for countries outside the EU you are responsible for import taxes and duties. The product safety information on our pages names sourcing for some blanks, for example poster blanks sourced from the USA and Japan, and tapestry microfibre of Chinese origin. That is the information we hold; we do not claim more.
How the artwork is made
The artworks are AI-generated or AI-modified artwork, directed by Burak Basci. A generative model produces candidates, a person selects and directs them, and the chosen ones are turned into products. They are generated images, not photographs we took. The full explanation, including what EU labelling rules do and do not cover, is in What AI-generated wall art actually means. We state the AI origin on product pages so buyers do not have to ask.
How a picture reaches a product
- A generative model produces candidate images from prompts.
- A person selects the candidates worth developing and directs changes.
- For some motifs the image is enlarged with software to reach the resolution needed for printing; enlarged images can look slightly softer when viewed up close, and this is one reason why the size list differs from motif to motif.
- The image is placed on product templates, such as poster, canvas, mug or desk mat, and the product page is created with the available sizes.
- After an order, a print partner prints and ships the item.
What decides print quality
Resolution decides how large a motif can be printed well. For that reason not every motif is offered in every size: a picture with too few pixels for a large print is limited to small sizes. Check the size list on the product page. We do not claim museum or archival quality, because we have no test data for the finished prints beyond the material specifications, which are on each page: for posters the paper weights are Fine Art 285 gsm, Semi Glossy 180 gsm and Matte 200 gsm. The paper guide explains the finishes, and the size guide helps match sizes to walls.
Returns, damage and warranty
Because items are made to order, there are no returns for change of mind outside the 14-day withdrawal period for consumers in Germany and the EU, which still applies (return shipping is at your cost). Personalised items are excluded from withdrawal. If an item is defective, damaged in transit, misprinted or not what you ordered, email with your order number and clear photos; you do not pay for returning a defective item, and we repair, replace or refund within the limits of the law. The statutory warranty is generally two years for goods in Germany. Refunds go to the original payment method. All of this is in the refund policy, which is the authoritative text.
What we cannot tell you
Printing and shipping are done by the print partner, so we can only pass on its estimates. We cannot give a delivery date, only the estimate above. We cannot promise colour matches between your screen and the print, and we publish no fading or lifespan figures. If you want to be sure about a particular motif, choose the paper or material that suits it and read the specifications on the product page first.
A short checklist before you order
- Measure the wall and check the size list on the product page.
- Pick the product type that suits your wall; see the material comparison.
- Read the shipping estimate: 7 to 21 business days in total.
- Remember that items can arrive in separate parcels.
- If you are outside the EU, expect import taxes.
