Description

Elderly Man Praying is made to order on a desk mat.

White-gray hair and beard frame the face, with the clasped hands in the center. A dark shirt sits below, lit softly from one side against a charcoal black background. Warm brown and silver tones make up the palette, and the scene reads as solemn and still.

A reading nook desk suits this piece, since the still figure fits a quiet spot for reading or writing. In a studio, the near-black background keeps attention on the clasped hands. Placed in view during a long workday, it stays calm without pulling focus from the task.
